Superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) are white, granular, safe, non-toxic, and biocompatible functional polymers (mainly sodium polyacrylate). Their core characteristic is their ability to absorb 300 to 1000 times their own weight in water, rapidly swelling to form a gel upon absorption, exhibiting extremely strong water retention and locking capabilities under pressure. This product has a pH value between 5.8 and 6.4 and is widely used as a core absorbent material in hygiene products such as baby and adult diapers and sanitary napkins (usually mixed with fluff pulp). Its applications are also expanding into agriculture and the medical field.
